But the secret isn’t in spending the money, it’s in nailing the daily routine. Here are eight skin care tips that will help you nail your daily routine and put you on the path to glowing skin.

Drink the Right Liquids

While it can be tempting to go grab a coffee as your usual morning pick-me-up, it’s time to resist. Choosing the right beverages will see almost immediate effects on your skin. Drinking a shot of chlorophyll every morning can help brighten, oxygenate and hydrate your skin. If you don’t want to drink it, you can opt for a chlorophyll supplement (found at various drug stores). Also drink green juices with a chock full of vegetables, which will produce the same results.

Maintain a Healthy Diet

Your skin has a natural barrier to help retain moisture. One contributor to that is omega-3 fatty acid. So maintaining a healthy diet that is abundant in flax seeds and walnuts will give you a needed omega-3 boost, which will increase your skin’s ability to hold onto moisture. Also make sure to eat a diet that is low in simple and complex carbohydrates.

Use the Correct Cleanser for Your Skin Type

For oily or acne prone skin: a salycylic gel or benzoyl peroxide works well for that.

For dry and mature skin: a moisturizing glycolic or milk cleanser is recommended.

For skin with brown spots or melasma: a brightening wash such as alpha hydroxide acid cleanser works.

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize

Moisturizing is key. The best times to moisturize are right after you get out of the shower and right before you go to bed. Be sure to avoid lotions with heavy fragrances and make sure to find a gentle moisturizer that won’t cause irritation with everyday use.

Don’t Touch Your Face

Touching your face can spread bacteria and cause breakouts which then can lead to scarring, an increase in wrinkles and even catching the flu.

Don’t Use too Many Products

Using more than one or two products all at once is not a good idea because the combination of multiple elements can be harsh on the skin, resulting in more unnecessary breakouts and clogged pores.

Wear Sunscreen 24/7

Most people think we only need sunscreen on sunny days, but we actually need to protect our face when we go on daily errands because we are still exposed to the UV rays. Choose a broad range spectrum sunscreen that has a SPF of 30 or greater, and make sure to reapply it every two hours for maximum effect.

Hydrate

This has been emphasized time and time again. Hydration is important because a lack of water means for less radiance and more droopy skin. The best way to keep your skin hydrated is to choose products that have hydrating formulas and to drink around eight glasses of water a day.
